Day 6 Library work
Make yourself familiar with the SCSU library site. It will help you locate books in the library. You need to find five books. If you cannot find the book on the shelf, try asking your classmates :-).
Select five posts from your classmates that describe their library book work from last week. Think of the 25 listed members (on the right side of the class blog) as five groups. 1-5, 6-10 etc. Pick one from each five in the list. Not the same people as last time. That will - I hope- involve all members of class. Go find those five books and quote the first sentence of page 15. Describe the book (what it is about, who the author is, where and when it was published, and where) and weave the quote into your text. At the end, create a mini bibliography of the five books and return them quickly. Others will be looking for the same books! Post your findings.
Then go back and study the SCSU library site in detail. Peruse the RefWorks site, create an ID and try using it. Use Group code "RWStCloudSU" and training here. Try out what the website can do for you: create a small bibliography. Post it.
Homework for next week: Think of three countries or regions of the world that your interviewee might come from. Find books and on-line resources and write a report why you are interested in this country or region, and which books you found. 500 words. This will prepare you for the needed country reports of our interviews. Post it on your blog. Due noon next week the day we meet.
